Our Waterville office is situated in a peaceful, secluded setting along the banks of the Messalonski Stream, right in the heart of town. Donna Ruble, M.Ed., LCPC, serves as Team Leader with Ramneesh Trehan, M.D., Psychiatrist, Dorin Zohner, Ph.D., Psychologist, and other clinicians to provide services including Outpatient Therapy for all ages, Substance Abuse Services, Psychological Testing and Medication Management.

Judy Gallant, LCSW
Judith Gallant provides group, individual, and family therapy to a primarily adult population, but has worked with children. Her specializations include domestic violence issues, women's issues, depression, anxiety, victimization issues, stress, chronic pain management and grief issues. She has provided mental health services to Tanf participants throughout 9 counties for Good Will Industries and to out-patient clients of Kennebec Valley Mental Health. Early in her career Judith coordinated activities and services for shelter residents at the Family Violence Project, as well as providing self-esteem, assertiveness, career/life planning trainings while facilitating peer support groups for Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community.
Jean Hair, MSW, LCSW
Jean earned her Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from the University of Maine , Orono in 1995 and 1997 respectively. She is Level II trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) . Her social work experience includes Hospice, DHS women's group facilitation, University of Maine Counseling Center therapy, Out-patient clinical work at Kennebec Valley Mental Health Center and Prevention Specialist work coordinating a response to abuse and high-risk substance abuse at Unity College . Her specialties include trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, couples and relationship issues, grief and loss, and anger management. Jean works with individuals, couples, groups and families. Jean strives to create a supportive atmosphere to help enable clients to find strength in making life-affirming choices facilitating personal growth.

Jane McMorrow, M.Ed., LCPC
Jane earned her Bachelors in Psychology in 1971 from Unity College in Unity, Maine and her Masters in Education, from the University of Maine in Orono in 1992. In 1998 she received her clinical counselor license and a certification in mediation from the University of Southern Maine . She has worked throughout central Maine since 1986. Prior experience includes Behavioral Specialist II, middle and high school, family, probation, and sexual abuse counseling along with development of a half-way house for recovering alcoholic women. Carolyn earned her Masters of Education degree from the University of Maine at Orono in 1995, which builds upon her experience in providing substance abuse counseling to individuals, families and groups in the Bangor area. Donna earned her Bachelors in Human Services in 1991 from Trinity College , Burlington , Vermont and her Masters in Educational Psychology in Community Counseling form the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee , Wisconsin in 1995. She is currently pursuing Post Graduate work in Trauma Counseling with more than 12 years of clinical experience. Prior to joining PROTEA Donna provided school-based and outpatient therapy for Kennebec Valley Mental Health center, Waterville , Maine , Family Development consulting for Kennebec Valley Community Action Program, Augusta , Maine . Donna focuses on counseling individuals, couples, and families addressing a variety of mental health issues with an emphasis on sexual abuse, child abuse and neglect, depression, trauma, loss, ADHD, fire setting, and foster and adoption issues.
Rowena Tessmann, Ph.D., RN-CS
Executive Director
Rowena Tessmann received her education in South Africa. Her credentials include a Bachelors Degree in Nursing Administration and Nursing Education, with Masters and Doctoral degrees in Psychiatric Nursing. She possesses a broad range of international experience in clinical, educational and administrative areas. Some of her career highlights include: teaching at Ann Latsky College of Nursing in Johannesburg, South Africa; teaching at the University of British Columbia and at Douglas College in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; serving as Director of Nursing as well as teaching at the University of Maine at Fort Kent; and providing consulting services for Bangor Mental Health Institute and other agencies. Dr. Tessmann is well known and highly regarded in the Mental Health field. Major publishers such as F.A. Davis and Mosby frequently ask her to review textbooks. Dr. Tessmann, known for her high standards and uncompromising dedication to quality client care, maintains an active clinical caseload in addition to her duties as Executive Director.
Ramneesh Trehan, M.D., Psychiatrist
Ramneesh graduated from Government Medical College , Punjab , India with a M.B.B.S Degree in 1983. Following his Internship at the same school, he completed his Psychiatry Residency at Maine Medical Center , Portland , Maine in 2001. He also earned a Fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York . Prior work experience includes private, agency and hospital work in India and in Maine . His general psychiatry practice focuses on treating individual adults with an emphasis on chemical dependency / addiction and dual diagnosis. Additionally, he has taught students and professionals alike and performed administrative and supervisory functions in psychiatry positions. Ramneesh is happy to serve English, Hindi and Punjabi-speaking clients throughout Maine .
Dorin Zohner, Ph.D. , Psychologist
Dorin earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Brigham Young University , his Doctorate at the University of Massachusetts , and post-doctoral training at The Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota . He served his internship at Kennebec Valley Mental Health Center . Dorin has worked in the mental health arena for more than 40 years. For 33 years he taught child and adolescent development courses for the Psychology Department at Colby College . Additionally, he served as consulting psychologist at Kennebec Valley Community Action program and the Cerebral Palsy Center along with various agencies serving the mentally retarded and developmentally disabled.

Joseph Languet
Joe Languet utilizes considerable work experience in supporting Client Services. A graduate of Waterville Senior High School , Joe volunteered more than 14 years with college radio. He assists with reception, serves as liaison between clients, Waterville staff and Bangor Administration, work supports client scheduling, and handling referrals while supporting appropriate clinical placement based on individualized client needs.
Matthew McKillop
Matthew is a 1991 graduate of George Stevens Academy . Prior experience includes Production Manager of Sister Salsa, a Maine organic foods company, web design, and data entry. His work in Client Services supports clients by assisting with reception, the facilitation of client scheduling while supporting appropriate clinical placement based on individualized client needs and handling referrals. He enjoys his rapport with clients and staff of all ages.
